Are these veterinary calculators free?
Yes. The fluid rate, drip rate, weight and temperature calculators above run in your browser with no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use them. The full set of 20 calculators is also free inside Finches — you only need an account there because they are wired to a patient record.
Which veterinary calculators are included?
Twenty in total. Fluid and dosing: Fluid Rate, Shock Fluid Rate, Pediatric Fluid Rate, Anesthesia Rate, Drip Rate, CRI and Dilution. Emergency and metabolic: Hypoglycemia, Hypokalemia (KCl), Hyperkalemia, Dextrose, Chocolate Toxicity and Blood Transfusion. Sizing and conversion: Energy Requirement, Body Surface Area, Lab Units, Weight Units, Temperature, Liquid Volume and Length.
Which drip sets do the calculators support?
All four standard sizes: 10, 15 and 20 drops per mL for macrodrip sets, and 60 drops per mL for microdrip or pediatric sets. The drip rate calculator returns both drops per minute and drops per second, plus a plain-language cadence so you can set a gravity line by counting.
Do I need to convert pounds to kilograms first?
No. Every calculator that takes a body weight accepts kilograms or pounds and converts for you, using 1 kg = 2.204623 lb. If you would rather see the conversion on its own, the weight converter also handles grams, milligrams, micrograms and ounces.
What is the difference between these and the calculators in Finches?
The maths is identical. The difference is that these four pages are standalone — you type a weight into each one separately. Inside Finches the calculators share a canvas, so entering a patient’s weight once drives every dose, rate and volume at the same time, and the results attach to that patient’s record.
For veterinary professionals. Values are calculation aids only and do not replace clinical judgment, product labels, or formulary guidance. Verify every dose before administration.
