What is a normal temperature for a dog or cat?

Normal body temperature for dogs and cats is roughly 38.3–39.2 °C (100.9–102.5 °F) — higher than humans. Above about 39.5 °C (103.1 °F) suggests pyrexia or hyperthermia; below 37.8 °C (100 °F) in a sick patient warrants active warming and investigation.

How do you convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?

°C = (°F − 32) × 5⁄9, and °F = °C × 9⁄5 + 32. Kelvin is Celsius + 273.15 and is mostly a laboratory scale. A US thermometer reading of 102.0 °F is 38.9 °C — normal for a dog, febrile for a person.
